Saturday 1/11/20 Go Robot Go! Autonomous & Drive

Date: Saturday, January 11th, 2020
Agenda: Last chance to program test and drive, and finish Notebook
In Attendance: Hayden, Sean, Connie and Liam
Note Taker: Connie
Tasks: Autonomous, Drive and Notebook
Reflection: We changed out the lift arm motor because it was really overheating this morning. We made changes in the programming and in our drive strategy to stop the motor from being constantly on and causes the heat issue and running down our batteries. So far testing with the new motor has been successful. One of our after season tasks will be to test our motors and equipment to see if some of our older motors are burned out or damaged.

We got two of the autonomous programs running well and tested them multiple times. Then we started having connection errors between the Rev and the phone. We are checking to see if there are any updates we need to take care of. We tried changing cords but it didn’t solve the issue. We tried restarting the robot and the phones and still kept having the issue. The meeting was coming to a close, so we cleaned up a little early and got back to the Notebook so we can get it printed.

If you’re in Roseburg next Saturday, stop by the Roseburg HS gym and cheer us on after noon as we compete with the robot at the SOAR League FTC Championship!

Thursday 1/9/20 - Programming issues

Date: Thursday, January 9th, 2020
Agenda: Perfect the programming!
In Attendance: Hayden, Liam and Sean
Note Taker: Sean
Tasks: Make changes to the programming to improve it
Reflection: Most of the meeting was spent improving the power to the lift arm by adjusting the values. Unfortunately, the arm motor got hotter and hotter and eventually started smoking, and the battery quickly ran out of charge.
I think that is 3 motors this season that have smoked from over use. We set off school alarms once and are not trying to do that again, although we joke about it.
We have to change our plan so that the arm motor is not running constantly so that we can avoid this issue.

Saturday 1/4/2020 - Happy New Year!

Date: Saturday, January 4th, 2020
Agenda: Make it work, Driver time and Notebook
In Attendance: Hayden, Sean, Liam and Kairon
Note Taker: Sean
Tasks: Test the robot and work on Autonomous
Reflection: We keep having issues controlling the robot and driving efficiently and we realize that we are getting close to tournament. We fixed the wheels and tested the motors. Liam created a new grabber and front plate that lines up the blocks and swings to grab the block. We spent most of the day making programming adjustments for timing and precision and working on the Engineering Notebook.
